LuSH-101
Inspired by the original SH-101, D16 Groups LuSH-101 takes a monophonic synth and turns it in to a monster with 8 individually programmable layers plus expansive mixing. LuSH-101 does not automatically present its parameters for control but 128 parameters can be set up in the plug-ins Options/Parameters menu.
The limitation of 128 parameters mean that some choices have to be made. Which part of LuSH-101 do I use the most? How can I best compliment LuSH-101 with my Nektar hardware?
Two setups are included with Nektarine and here is what they do.
LuSH-101 – Control of Layer 1
From Nektar hardware, you can control the parameters of Layer 1 and then copy your settings to other layers if needed, using the Timbre Copy and Paste functions in LuSH-101.
- The Menu pages gives access to:
- Arpeggiator
- Voices & Master
- VCO including Pitch/Sync, Pulse and Source Mixer
- Filter
- Env 1 & Env 2
- LFO
- Effects
LuSH-101 – Multi-Layer Control
The multi-layer Nektar map, delivers control of 10 parameters mapped over all 8 layers. The mapped parameters include:
- Arpeggiator mode
- Arpeggiator Rate
- Filter Frequency
- Level and Pan
- Square Level
- Saw Level
- Sub Level
- Noise Level
- Env 1 Decay
- Env 2 Decay
LuSH-101 Control Setup
Unlike most other plug-ins, LuSH-101 is not automatically sending parameters to Panorama so some setup is required to make that happen. To try out the two pre-configured Nektarine maps, you’ll need to download two LuSH-101 map files, available via the download button.
- Unzip and locate the map files in a directory where you can find them again.
- Next open the “Options” menu in LuSH-101 and select the “Parameters” tab.
- On the right hand of that window, click on the folder icon and locate the two LuSH-101 map files you downloaded earlier. Select the file set up for control of Layer 1 and open. The Parameters tab should now look like the image to the right.
Customizing
The Nektarine Control page and “Learn” function can be used to customize the LuSH-101 mapping, but only using the parameters already defined in the “Parameters” tab. If you change the parameters in the tab, the mapping will no longer work. You can however setup your own parameter list and use the default user pages to map them to your liking.
